Biography

Dr Sandeep Panikker is an honorary consultant at Royal Brompton Hospital, a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire and BMI Meridian Coventry.

He completed his medical training at Imperial College School of Medicine at St. Mary’s Hospital in 2002, with distinction in all subjects. He then subspecialised in cardiac electrophysiology at St Bartholomew’s and Royal Brompton hospitals.

In 2016, he completed a PhD at Imperial College, focused on atrial fibrillation and the left atrial appendage during which he achieved several high profile publications and awards.

As joint lead for the left atrial appendage closure training programme at the Royal Brompton Hospital, he enjoys his work mentoring and training fellow consultants in the UK and Europe. He also leads the left atrial appendage closure programme at University Hospital Coventry.
